Holiday Hoopla for Rescues, Shelters

The successful Holiday Match Game for Animals of previous years is being replaced for this season to focus on the locals! Are you up to the challenge?
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it: Find TWO (2) local #animalshelters, rescues, pounds and/or sanctuaries that give our homeless animals food, water, protection, hope and a chance, and play Santa for them in your own chosen way. These organizations always have wish lists that include daily essentials and goodies, and you can find out what these are easily enough. Perhaps you want to be even more hands on and join on as a dog-walking volunteer, commit to training to be a volunteer in the cat wing or sign up to become a cherished foster mom or dad. Or maybe you want to acknowledge an organization with a published letter to the editor. How you give back to the #animals and their human angels is only limited by your own desire, creativity and interests!

I kicked off this outreach initiative by taking on this same challenge. To this point I’ve reached out to several local animal organizations and solicited them on their needs, then posted the compiled list publicly to the Starbucks bulletin board on their behalf. I also recognized 17 Emergency Animal Medical Technicians of the #Arizona Humane Society by purchasing a #Starbucks gift card for each as a way to thank them in a small way for their critical efforts throughout the #Phoenix metro area. Lastly (yes, this is three, I know), I am in the process of making collection boxes to accept blankets and towels now that my request was approved by a local Starbucks. Easy peasy. If I can do it, anyone can!

Wherever you live, let your TWO community/area organizations know that you are an interested and thankful constituent, and help those organizations help those animals!
Please post your contributions right here in the Comments section. I hope we get many participants, as that’ll mean many animal welfare beneficiaries! THANK YOU! An example of Don Scott's regular grassroots fundraising efforts.
