Dear MPD Associates:

During the March Town Hall for U.S. and EMEA Associates we introduced our “hub-and-spoke” model. This new agency outsourcing model in the U.S. was inspired by a reimagination of partnering more efficiently and leveraging our internal talent as the model’s hub to deliver dynamic strategic and creative output and better scalability from talented, diverse agencies.

Hub and spokes is far from a rehash of the old. With Gore at the center of the model, it is our Associates who are sourcing, piloting, and onboarding agencies in the best interests of our businesses (“spokes”) and the greatest potential for success in pleasing our customers. We previously shared an early success story within the model: the pilot-to-partner journey of JSML Media featuring Gore Relationship Manager Lisa Barker. Since then, creative agency Zimmer | Madich of Minnesota has slotted into our hub-and-spokes model, led by Gore Relationship Manager Shannon Rivera and the work of her and her team to bring this agency from a June 2021 pilot to partner. As Shannon said, “It is imperative that we as an organization use the people and organizational tools within our new hub-and-spoke outsourcing model as functional assets.” We encourage you to learn more about this success story by reading the Q&A with Shannon Rivera, Gore MPD Relationship Manager, Zimmer | Madich.

To build and strengthen our model for long-term success we have added an Agency Alliance Manager (AAM) and Thought Leadership Council. XXX XXX is a new Gore hire and will serve as the hub-and-spokes model’s Agency Alliance Manager. The AAM is tasked with ensuring integration across Gore/agency relationships and serving as a primary point of contact for Gore businesses and their outsourcing needs while helping to improve the overall impact of MPD’s communications in the marketplace and with our customers (providers, physicians, patients). XXX XXX brings ### experience to Gore and will be an asset to our teams and the organization. Good luck, XXX!

Our model’s Thought Leadership Council comprises a collaborative team of individuals whose purpose is to drive high-level decision-making, ensure quality control and best practices around the new outsourcing relationships, and dedicate consideration to operational excellence and continuous improvement. The team will dive deep into the model structure, scorecards, agency bench, and long-term viability yet also consider a big-picture macro view of Gore culture, Associate inclusion, regional buildout/fit, etc. The Council will be led by Agency Alliance Manager XXX XXX and Executive Sponsor Lisa Henry.

The journey to reach this point and come this far in our new outsourcing model has been laborious and built out of necessity and a reimagination of something better. Thank you to Marketing Communications, Strategic Marketing, and other contributors for their vision, desire, and commitment in bringing us hub and spokes. Let us continue to build on our success. We hope you will join us for the October 5 Town Hall to learn more about the hub-and-spokes outsourcing model.
